Mud Virtuoso
Summary:
Mud Virtuoso is a game that test the creativity of 2 of the players. The game has 2 players going against each other with the 3rd player being the judge messing with the game with challenge cards. Our target audience are college students and at first it was hard to come up with a game like mud virtuoso for college, but i guess simpler is better when it comes to college students.
Problems:
Our problems were very small but they were still problems none the less. I remember one of the problems we had for the game was that we didn't have a proper cover up for both of the players. I say this because one of the rules of the game was that the 2 opponents were not aloud to see each others creation during the match. Another problem we ran into was that the judge wasn't truly engaged with the game during the early build. The judge would literally just watch until the end and then judge the 2 pieces.
Solutions:
We decided to throw in challenge cards for the judge to use the mess with the game a bit. when we decided to use these cards in our game people really started to enjoy the game even more than before. Sadly though we never really found any good barriers to use to cover up the players play doh, so we decided to use various items such as back packs, card board boxes etc.
changes to the Development process:
I don't think there is anything I would change because I had fun throughout the whole process. Ultimately it was a success and people had such a great time with our games, I was quite pleased. However if there was one thing I could change would be the topic we had to do this game on. Trying to make a game that had to do with mud and sticks was quite daring and straining on the brain, but when I finally figured out what we should do for the game all the pieces came together.
